Achieve a Trim, Athletic-looking Midsection

Tummy Tuck ScottsdaleIn spite of regular exercise and a balanced diet, sometimes the tight, toned figure we desire remains out of reach. A flat, lean midsection is a highly coveted feature that many men and women strive to achieve through hard work and discipline, but in many cases, they are unable to achieve the youthful, athletic look they envision. Abdominoplasty, better known as tummy tuck surgery, can help those struggling to achieve the midsection they want. By removing excess skin, fat, and other tissue and tightening the underling abdominal muscles, Dr. Steve Wiener can help his patients reach their goals with a tummy tuck at his Scottsdale, Arizona practice. This popular procedure may be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a breast lift or brachioplasty as part of a comprehensive body lift or mommy makeover treatment plan.

The Tummy Tuck Procedure

Once you have discussed your goals with Dr. Wiener and determined that a tummy tuck will help you achieve the look you want, our surgeon will determine a specific approach to meet your needs. Surgery always begins with sedation and anesthetic to ensure your best possible comfort throughout the surgery. A horizontal incision between the pubic hairline and the navel will give the surgeon access to the underlying tissue of your midsection. The length and shape of the incision will be determined by how much alteration is required. An additional incision around the navel may be needed, depending upon how much excess skin must be removed. Excess fat will be removed, possibly with liposuction, and excess skin and other tissue will be trimmed away. The weakened abdominal muscles will be tightened down the center of their "six-pack" formation and secured in place with sutures. Finally, the remaining skin will be pulled tighter, and the incisions will be closed with sutures, adhesives, or special tape.

After Tummy Tuck Surgery

You can expect swelling and an inability to stand upright immediately after your abdominoplasty. This will persist for roughly a week or two, depending upon the extent of your treatment. After that time, you will be able to fully stand and move around. You will already notice a firmer, fitter-looking midsection that better fits your frame and weight. Dr. Wiener will provide you with personalized instructions for recovering from a tummy tuck performed at his Scottsdale office.

"My stomach skin was so stretched out from having twins. I had lost all of the weight, but was left with saggy skin. I wanted to wear a bikini again! Dr. Wiener and his staff were amazing through the entire process, including a scar revision of my belly buttom done over a year later. They truly wanted me to be happy with the results."
